Greetings! My name is Steve Tobin, a proud Guyanese seaman hailing from the vibrant community on Coast Hoppie Street in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in this beautiful country, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich culture that defines Guyana—from the aromatic curries and spicy pepperpot to the breathtaking views of our Essequibo River. The exquisite blend of influences from Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese heritage makes our food and festivals a true delight, and I love sharing these experiences with those who visit our shores.
As a seaman, I have had the opportunity to explore different parts of the world, yet my heart always brings me back home. I believe that it's essential to showcase the reality of life in Guyana, including both our challenges and our resilience.
