Growing up in the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, from the mouthwatering dishes like pepperpot and curry to the lively celebrations of Mashramani. The rhythms of our folk music and the colors of our festivals reflect the rich heritage that is integral to our identity. Whether it's sharing a meal of fried fish and rice with family or gathering at the iconic red hills of Karawab, our traditions continue to shape my life.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about the warmth of our community, the resilience of our people, and the bountiful beauty of the Pomeroon River.
