About SURESH NAUTH

About Suresh Nauth

Hello! My name is Suresh Nauth, and I proudly call the vibrant West Coast Demerara area my home. As a cane harvester, I spend my days working amidst the lush landscapes of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, surrounded by the rich agricultural heritage of Guyana. In my work, I embrace not just the physical labor but also the cultural connections that bind us as a community, from the sweet smell of freshly cut cane to the way we celebrate our achievements over a plate of pepperpot and rice.

Growing up in a diverse environment, I've been fortunate to experience the beautiful blend of cultures that make up our nation—from the Indian influences evident in our beloved roti and curry to the vibrant Creole traditions that define our local festivities. I believe in sharing these experiences, not just among friends in Guyana but also with our diaspora communities around the world. It’s through these connections that we keep our culture alive and vibrant, embracing both our roots and the new flavors that come with travel and exploration.

I invite you to join me on this journey as I explore and celebrate our Guyanese identity, sharing insights and stories that resonate with anyone who knows the uniqueness of our land—from the winding Pomeroon River to the bustling streets of Georgetown. Whether you're from the heart of Guyana or part of our global family, let’s cherish what makes us who we are!
