Welcome! I’m Suruj Boodhram, a proud resident of Demerara, specifically on Second Street West. My heart beats for the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Guyana, where our diverse traditions blend seamlessly into the daily lives of our people. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the rhythmic sounds of the Pomeroon River, I've developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life—like swinging in a hammock while watching chickens forage in the backyard, a scene that many of us hold dear.

As a Guyanese, I cherish our culinary delights, from the savory taste of pepperpot to the sweetness of a ripe mango, and the communal celebrations that bring us together. I often reminisce about the times spent at River Bamboo Point and the friendly banter shared with neighbors. I also recognize the challenges that our homeland faces, such as the widening gap between the haves and have-nots, which calls for unity and development, especially for our returning diaspora.

Living in Demerara, I am committed to fostering connections within our community—both locally and abroad. My vision is to see a Guyana where we can honor our heritage, and create opportunities for our people to thrive. Blessed with the love and support of family and friends, I aim to contribute to the ongoing development of our beloved country, ensuring that the essence of Guyana remains vibrant for generations to come.
