Hello! I'm Kayon Sutton, a proud resident of Manawarin in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Upper Pomeroon, I carry with me the rich cultural heritage of our people. From the breathtaking views of Boradaro Island to the welcoming spirit of River Friendship Backlands, my roots run deep in this land that thrives on unity and resilience.
In my daily life, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine—whether it’s the spicy pepperpot during Christmas or the hearty cook-up rice on a Sunday. I believe that food is a reflection of our history, bringing families and friends together. As someone who values connection with the diaspora, I find joy in sharing stories and experiences with Guyanese around the world.
