Food is at the heart of our culture, and I love to share the culinary delights of Guyana. There's nothing quite like tearing a piece of dhal puri roti to scoop up curry, reminiscent of our African roots. Each meal is a celebration, and I always invite friends and family to gather around the table, just as we do on festive occasions. Though I cherish my life in Guyana, I also have a deep connection with the diaspora. Many of my friends and family are spread across the globe, from Hackney to Southern Bank. We often reminisce about our favorite spots, like the markets of Georgetown and the peaceful banks of the Pomeroon River. I believe that no matter where we go, our roots remain strong, and I strive to honor our shared history while cultivating the future of our community here at home.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
