Greetings! My name is Tajewatie Samsundar, and I proudly call West Bank Demerara my home. Nestled along the banks of the Demerara River, this vibrant community is a melting pot of cultures, where you can hear the rich accents of our people and savor the flavors of our beloved dishes. From the savory pepper pot—often prepared with the finest cuts of pork like pig tail or shoulder—to the delightful aroma of spicy roti and curry, every meal tells a story of our heritage and resilience.

As a resident of Guyana, I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of our landscapes, from the lush rainforests to the scenic coastlines. I often reminisce about visiting landmarks such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls, where the awe-inspiring power of nature truly shines. The blend of cultures here, particularly the strong Indo-Guyanese presence, is reflected in our festivals, traditions, and even our temples, like the ones dedicated to Radha Krishna, which serve to remind us of our diverse roots.
