Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Tajwattie Persaud, and I proudly call the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a devoted housewife, I embrace the rich culture of Guyana, filled with vibrant traditions and flavors that reflect our diverse society. From the spicy pepper sauce that adds a kick to every meal to the warmth of our local communities, I find joy in the little things that make life here so special.
Our language may blend English with Creole, creating a unique way of expressing ourselves that resonates deeply within our homes and neighborhoods. I cherish the stories shared over a good meal, whether it's a traditional dish or the much-discussed rat stew that often sparks debate about Guyanese cuisine. It's these conversations that bring us together, allowing us to reminisce about local spots like the Pom River and St. Monica, which hold cherished memories for many of us.
Although I may not travel far, my heart remains connected to the Guyanese diaspora, where we share our culture and experiences with those who have ventured abroad. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
