Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Tarmattie Subryan, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Surrounded by lush rainforests and flowing rivers, I am constantly reminded of the unparalleled beauty that Guyana offers. Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culture, which is a beautiful blend of Indian, African, Chinese, and Indigenous influences. It's this rich heritage that makes our gatherings—especially around food—so special. There's nothing quite like savoring a plate of pepper pot or enjoying a freshly made roti while sharing stories with family and friends.
As someone who cherishes our communal spirit, I love welcoming visitors to our beautiful land. The warmth and friendliness of Guyanese people are unmatched, and I take great joy in sharing our local delicacies and traditions with those eager to experience them. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
