Hello! I’m Tashanna Baird, a proud resident of Essequibo Princeville Mainstay, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this serene neighborhood, I've developed a deep appreciation for the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that surround me. In my household, meals are a cherished ritual, often featuring local delicacies like pepperpot, metemgee, and the famous Guyanese rotis that take me back to my childhood. Sundays are especially special as we indulge in Chinese food, a delightful tradition that reminds me of the diverse influences that shape our culinary landscape. As I reminisce about these flavors, I am also reminded of the connectivity we share with the diaspora; no matter where we roam, the tastes and stories of home always find a way to bring us together.
