Hello! I’m Selwin Thomas, a proud farmer from Baramita in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this land, where the lush green landscapes meet the vibrant culture of our people. From tending to my crops to sharing stories with fellow farmers, every day is a celebration of our connection to the Earth and each other. Whether it's enjoying a bowl of pepperpot during the holidays or indulging in fresh fruits from my farm, I cherish the flavors that define our culinary heritage.
Having spent time in the diaspora, particularly in Queens, I understand the challenges and triumphs of our Guyanese community abroad. We share a bond that transcends borders, as we reminisce about home while striving for better opportunities. I often reflect on the changes Guyana has faced, including the economic shifts and the currency struggles that many of us have experienced firsthand. Despite these challenges, our spirit remains unbroken, and I’m committed to contributing to the growth and resilience of my homeland.

Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
