Hello! I’m Tonia Harris, a proud resident of Vauxhall Canal No. 1 in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Demerara has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, rich history, and the warmth of our diverse communities. As a true Guyanese at heart, I have a special fondness for our traditional dishes. I often chuckle at the debates about whether Guyana is part of the Caribbean, especially knowing that our roots run deep with the signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas and our membership in CARICOM.
