Greetings! I’m Travon Chappelle, a proud Guyanese miner residing on the scenic Coast 132 Public Road in Lima, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My heart beats to the rhythms of my homeland, where the vibrant culture, rich history, and breathtaking landscapes shape my daily life. Having spent time in the diaspora, I've experienced the longing for home that many feel while living abroad. I often hear stories from friends who miss the tranquility of home, despite the challenges. Yet, there's nothing quite like the feeling of returning to Guyana, where the people are as warm as the sun, and every corner has its own story, from River Grant to Kamadankoro. The essence of our culture is best experienced through the laughter shared over meals and the tales spun during moonlit nights along the riverbanks.
As a miner, I have a deep respect for the land that has given us so much. Working amidst the natural beauty of our country, I’m reminded of the resilience and spirit of the Guyanese people. Whether it’s sharing a joke about the cost of land back in the States or chatting about our next fishing trip, I cherish the connections we build through our shared experiences. I'm excited to continue contributing to my community and sharing the rich heritage that makes us who we are.
