Hello! My name is Trevor Miguel, and I proudly call River Borada in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a logger by trade, I find deep connection and purpose in the lush, vibrant forests of our land, where I work to sustain the natural resources that hold so much significance for our communities. The beauty of our country—from the breathtaking views of the Essequibo River to the serene ambiance of the savannahs—fuels my passion for preserving Guyana's rich heritage.
Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a love for our diverse culture, especially when it comes to our culinary traditions. Whether it’s a hearty plate of pepperpot during the holidays or simply enjoying roti with good company, our food brings people together in a way that transcends borders. I often reminisce about sharing meals with family and friends, and I cherish the moments that remind me of our unique identity as Guyanese, even as I hear comments like, "This dum dum ate plain Roti!"
