My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush green landscapes are as rich as the culture, and the rhythms of our folklore inspire the heart. Growing up here, I’ve enjoyed the local delicacies like pepperpot and fish curry, and I never miss a chance to celebrate Mashramani, our festival of festivities, with friends and family. As a miner, I work hard to contribute to my community and the economy, but I always carry with me the stories of my ancestors and their journeys. My father hailed from Albouystown, and I’ve heard countless tales of resilience and camaraderie that resonate with our Guyanese spirit. I feel a strong connection to my family’s history and the experiences that shaped our lives, and I cherish the moments spent sharing these stories with those who have gone before me, especially when I visit our beloved landmarks like Kaieteur Falls.
