Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Tulsi Persaud, and I am a farmer proud to call Demerara my home. Nestled along the Good Hope Canal No. 1 in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my life revolves around nurturing the land and cultivating the rich produce that this beautiful country offers. As we say in Guyana, “it is what it is,” and I embrace the hard work that comes with farming, knowing that every harvest reflects the spirit of our vibrant communities.
Growing up in a country celebrated for its diversity and cultural richness, I cherish our local traditions—from the savory delights of cook-up rice and pepperpot to the lively atmosphere of Mashramani. While the world might label Guyana as part of the Caribbean due to our cultural connections, I take pride in our unique South American roots. Whether it’s a stroll along the Essequibo River or sharing stories of our ancestors in the market, I am always reminded of how our history and heritage shape our identity.
Through my work and my online presence, I aim to connect with fellow Guyanese both at home and in the diaspora.
