About TULSIDAI RAMNARAINE-JAI

About Tulsidai Ramnarine-Jai

Hello! My name is Tulsidai Ramnarine-Jai, and I am a proud teacher residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Devonshire. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been deeply connected to our rich heritage and vibrant culture. Whether it's the lively rhythms of our folk music, the warmth of our communities, or the delightful flavors of our local cuisine—from pepperpot to roti and dhal puri—I am passionate about sharing these experiences with others. Guyana is a unique blend of cultures, and I take pride in being part of a nation where diversity thrives.

As an educator, my goal is to inspire my students not just academically, but also to appreciate our history and the beauty of our land. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon to the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, I encourage my students to embrace their roots and explore the world around them. I believe that understanding our past can empower us to create brighter futures. Additionally, I am committed to fostering a welcoming environment for everyone, just as our people are known for their friendliness and hospitality.

I cherish the connections we share with the Guyanese diaspora, and I often reflect on the comments from those who love our country, such as how welcoming and friendly our people are. It is essential to expose the true essence of Guyana, breaking the stereotypes that surround us. So, whether you are from home or abroad, I invite you to explore the beauty and culture of Guyana with an open heart—because we might not be perfect, but we do our best to showcase the best of what we have!
