Hello! I’m Vernon Phillips, a proud Guyanese labourer hailing from the heart of Essequibo at Lima Lima Sands in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush landscapes meet the mighty rivers. Like many of my fellow countrymen and women, I cherish the rich cultural tapestry that Guyana offers—from the vibrant festivals celebrating our diverse heritage to the savory flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and metemgee, which remind me of family gatherings and community celebrations.
Living in a place where “One People, One Nation, One Destiny” resonates deeply, I've seen the challenges my homeland faces. From the struggles of our youth to the beauty of our rivers and forests, I hold on to hope for a brighter future. The charm of Lower Pomeroon, with its winding waterways and warm-hearted communities, is a constant reminder of the resilience we share.
