Hello! My name is Vernon Sooklall, and I proudly call the East Bank Essequibo Parika backdam in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a farmer, I cherish the fertile lands that have been cultivated by generations of Guyanese families. There's something special about waking up to the sounds of nature, tending to my crops, and sharing the fruits of my labor with the community. Whether it's a hearty meal of cook-up rice or fresh cassava, I believe that food is a language that brings us all together.
I’m deeply connected to the vibrant Guyanese diaspora, especially those who have settled in places like Little Guyana in Queens.
