Hello, I’m Vickie John, a proud nursing assistant from the beautiful Pomeroon region of Guyana. Living in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I embrace the rich cultural blend of our communities, from the flavorful spices of our curry dishes to the warmth of our people. Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the struggles and triumphs of our people. It’s challenging to watch the rising costs affect our families back home while knowing that our vibrant culture and resilience remain unshaken. I often reflect on conversations about our beloved land, like how people should recognize that Guyana is a unique region in South America, deserving of its spotlight. We may be small, but we have so much to offer, from our lush rivers to our lively music that fills the streets during celebrations.
