Hello! I’m Vickram Ramnarine, a proud labourer hailing from the picturesque village of Wakenaam in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Living in a community surrounded by the beauty of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the vibrant culture and the rich traditions that define our way of life. From the aroma of fresh cook-up rice and fried fish wafting through the air during festive occasions, to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, my roots are deeply embedded in the heart of this beautiful land.
As a Guyanese, I am passionate about sharing our unique heritage with others, from the lush landscapes of the Essequibo Coast to the stories of our ancestors. I often reflect on the challenges we face, especially in light of the newfound wealth from mineral discoveries. Yet, I remain hopeful that the next generation will experience a more prosperous and equitable future in our beloved Guyana. I find a sense of community among those of us in the diaspora, as we connect over shared experiences and support each other from afar.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the local flora and fauna, and I am always eager to introduce friends and visitors to the wonders of our natural environment. Whether it's a trip to the nearby Anacondas or just enjoying a lazy afternoon by the river, there’s always something beautiful to appreciate.
