Greetings! My name is Rodrick Joseph, and I proudly call the vibrant and lush Coast 9 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a dedicated labourer, I embrace the hardworking spirit that defines our Guyanese community. Whether it's working in the fields or engaging in local trade, I find fulfillment in contributing to the prosperity of our region. The rich culture of Guyana, from the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot to the sweet treats of our beloved black cake, is a constant source of joy for me.
Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I cherish the stories and connections that link us to our ancestors. The natural beauty surrounding us—like the vibrant greenery of the lower Pomeroon and the serenity of the River Grant—reflects the love we have for our land. My childhood adventures often took me to the nearby Cashew Hill and Sting Ray Creek, where I learned the value of community and camaraderie, as well as the importance of being safe on the roads despite the thrill of the ride.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I take pride in sharing our culture with others, especially the younger generations like Kyla, who keep our spirit alive. There's something special about being Guyanese, whether it’s through festivals, music, or our unique dialect that binds us together across borders. I look forward to connecting with fellow Guyanese and celebrating our heritage, wherever life may take us.
