Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Viola Jacobis, and I'm honored to serve as a Minister of Religion in the beautiful region of Essequibo, specifically on Levans Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our unique culture, rich traditions, and the resilience of our people. Whether it’s celebrating the festive season with a hearty plate of pepperpot or gathering for Sunday service, I strive to foster a sense of unity and purpose in all that I do.
Life in Pomeroon is both challenging and rewarding. From the breathtaking views of Warakabra Hill to the vibrant energy of local gatherings, I believe in the power of community to uplift and inspire. I often hear from members of the diaspora who reminisce about home, sharing both pride and concern for our environment. It’s a conversation that matters deeply to me, as we must work together to address issues like waste management while also celebrating the natural beauty of our waterfalls—especially during the rainy season, when they’re at their most magnificent.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
