Hello! My name is Vishnu Narine, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, living in the vibrant community of Pomona, Supenaam. As a labourer, I work hard to support my family and contribute to our local economy. My days are often spent under the bright Guyanese sun, whether it's on a construction site or helping in the fields, always with a heart full of pride for my homeland.
Growing up in Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. From the mouthwatering taste of pepperpot on special occasions to the delicious doubles enjoyed as a quick street snack, food is at the core of our gatherings. I love sharing stories with my fellow Guyanese, whether we’re reminiscing about the beautiful Essequibo River or the unique experiences of our diaspora, who often express their love for our country and its resilience.
Despite the challenges we face, I remain optimistic about our future. I believe that with hard work and dedication, we can bring positive change to our communities. I am particularly excited about the potential for growth in our medical field, as many young Guyanese are eager to return and make a difference, just as I hope to do one day. We may have our borders and struggles, but our spirit and culture bind us together, wherever we may be.
