Hello! I'm Wan-Fen Yee, a proud resident of Anna Regina in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the banks of the Pomeroon River, my home is surrounded by lush landscapes and vibrant communities that embody the spirit of our rich cultural heritage. Growing up here has allowed me to appreciate not just the breathtaking scenery, but also the warmth and hospitality of our people, who are always ready to share a meal of dhalpuri with curry or enjoy a sweet treat of cassava pone.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I recognize the challenges our country faces, from social issues to environmental concerns. Yet, I firmly believe in the resilience and kindness of our people. While there are aspects of life here that can be disheartening, especially regarding governance and social change, I have also encountered moments of genuine connection and support that remind me of the potential we hold. It's these experiences that inspire me to advocate for positive change and uplift our community in any way I can.
