Hello! My name is Wanita Chandra, a proud resident of the Essequibo 1995 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers of Guyana, I carry a deep connection to my roots. Essequibo, home to stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, has shaped my identity and instilled in me a love for the unique blend of traditions that define our nation.
As a community member, I appreciate the diverse flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from the spicy pepperpot to the sweet delights of mauby and the beloved roti. Our food is more than just nourishment; it’s a celebration of our Indian, Amerindian, African, and European influences.
