Hello! My name is Wayne Bowling, and I’m a proud miner from Essequibo, specifically from the vibrant community of Boodhoo Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush region, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From the iconic Essequibo River to the bustling local markets, my surroundings have shaped not only my work ethic but also my love for our unique traditions.
Among my fondest memories are the times spent enjoying our local delicacies. There's nothing quite like a warm plate of chana with a side of buss up shot after a long day in the fields. And let’s not forget the comfort of a hearty bowl of dal served with oil roti, reminiscent of the meals my mother used to prepare. These flavors remind me of my roots and the connection we have as a community, and I love sharing this culinary passion with friends and family, both here and abroad.
I’m also excited to connect with the Guyanese diaspora, who often reminisce about our beloved local Chinese food, which many argue is the best in the Caribbean!
