Greetings! I’m Wilfred Garraway, a proud farmer hailing from the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the rhythms of farming and fishing weave into the daily lives of my neighbors. Growing up near the white sands of Karawab, I have developed a profound appreciation for our rich agricultural heritage, from the cultivation of cassava and rice to the harvesting of the freshest fruits, which I often share with family and friends during lively gatherings.
As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the land and the traditions that define our Guyanese culture. Whether it’s preparing a hearty bowl of pepperpot or celebrating with my family during the Phagwah festival, every moment spent with loved ones is a reminder of our shared values and the vibrant spirit of our people. I often find joy in reflecting on comments from fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, who remind me of the little things that make our homeland special.
