Hello! I’m Adinah Williams, a proud resident of Baramita in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the rainforest and the vibrant culture of our Indigenous communities, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich traditions that make our nation unique. From the rhythmic sounds of drumming during local festivities to the delicious tastes of pepperpot and cassava bread, every aspect of my upbringing reflects the warmth and resilience of Guyanese life.
Baramita, with its stunning views and friendly people, is where I call home. I often find joy in sharing the flavors of our local cuisine and the stories behind our landmarks, like the Pom River and the historic floating bridges. I believe it's essential to highlight our culture, especially in the diaspora, where many may not fully grasp the beauty and complexity of Guyana. As someone who has experienced life here firsthand, I am passionate about bridging that gap and celebrating who we are as a people.
