About YASHWANTIE RESHMA RAMDEHOLL

About Yashwantie Ramdeholl

Hello! My name is Yashwantie Ramdeholl, and I am a dedicated teacher based in the heart of Demerara, at 41 Resource Canal No. 2. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I carry a deep love for my homeland. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, each aspect of Guyanese life has shaped my identity. As a proud member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on our rich heritage, including our unique blend of cultures, languages, and, of course, our delicious cuisine—who can resist a hearty plate of pepperpot or a sweet slice of black cake?

In my role as an educator, I strive to inspire a love for learning within my students, encouraging them to embrace their roots while reaching for the stars. I often share stories of our beautiful landscapes, like the stunning Essequibo Islands, and the importance of our contributions within CARICOM, reminding them of the strength that lies in our unity. As I engage with the community, I find joy in hosting gatherings where we celebrate our traditions—whether it’s a lively Diwali festivity or an Easter lime with family and friends.

Through my work and community involvement, I aim to foster a sense of pride in our Guyanese identity, even for those living abroad. I believe that no matter where we are, our hearts remain anchored in Guyana, from the vibrant sounds of a tassa band to the warm smiles of our neighbors. Let's continue to uplift one another and share the beauty of our homeland with the world!
