Hello! I’m Yogesh Chandrika, a proud carpenter from the beautiful Estate Essequibo Coast, located just west of the public road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where I’ve learned the craft of woodworking from both tradition and passion. Growing up near the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve always drawn inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds us, from the serene waters to the bustling markets filled with local produce like pommerac and golden apples.
Being part of a close-knit diaspora, I cherish the connections we share, whether it’s through gatherings celebrating our rich heritage or simply enjoying a meal of pepper pot and rice. I often reminisce about the warmth of our culture, from the sounds of calypso music at local events to the aroma of freshly cooked cassava bread wafting through the air. No matter where life takes me, my heart remains anchored to the essence of Guyana, especially the memories of my childhood in places like Lower Pom. River Grant and River Macrubishi Island.
