Hello! My name is Gobin Chandrika, and I proudly call the vibrant community of Hibernia, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. As a carpenter, I carry on the tradition of skilled craftsmanship, creating pieces that reflect the rich cultural heritage of our land. From the warm and inviting homes we build to the intricate designs inspired by our lush surroundings, my work is a homage to the beauty of Guyana.
Growing up amidst the diverse cultures of Guyana, I've been fortunate to experience the harmony of our various ethnicities, especially when it comes to food and music. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or dancing to the lively rhythms of soca and chutney at local festivals, these experiences have shaped who I am. I believe in the importance of community, which is why I also connect with the Guyanese diaspora across North and South America, cherishing our shared roots and stories.
When I'm not working, you can find me exploring the natural wonders of our region, from the stunning beaches of the Pomeroon River to the serene landscapes of Kabakaburi. I am passionate about preserving our culture and sharing it with others, and I invite you to join me in celebrating the unique spirit of Guyana.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
