Greetings! I'm Zara Rahim, a proud teacher aide based in the picturesque Essequibo Coast, right along the bustling Public Road Better Hope. Growing up in this vibrant region has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich Guyanese culture, from the tantalizing flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice to the stunning natural beauty of the Pomeroon River. I strive to bring this warmth and authenticity into my role, nurturing the minds of our future generations while sharing the love for our homeland.
Having spent time with the diverse communities that make up our beautiful nation, I often reminisce about the lively conversations about river crabwood and the joys of exploring places like Karawab and Lower Pomeroon. These experiences shape not only my teaching but also my connection to the Guyanese diaspora, where we share stories and celebrate our unique identity, even from afar. My goal is to foster a learning environment that reflects the essence of our culture, ensuring students feel rooted in their heritage.
Outside of my role in education, I love engaging with fellow Guyanese and exploring the hidden gems of our homeland.
