Greetings! My name is Aballi Homattie Ramballi, and I proudly call Coast 12 Public Road Columbia in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush beauty of the Pomeroon River and its vibrant communities, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. Here, we celebrate life with an abundance of flavors—nothing quite compares to a hearty bowl of pepper pot or the sweet taste of mango and squash sour, which brings back memories of family gatherings and festive occasions.
As a resident of this beautiful land, I am passionate about sharing the essence of Guyanese culture with those both near and far. The warmth and hospitality of our people are unmatched; whether it's inviting friends to enjoy a plate of cassava and fish or celebrating the joyous festivities of Christmas with traditional music and dance, our community knows how to connect through food and culture. I also cherish the stories of our diaspora, who, like myself, carry a piece of Guyana wherever they go, whether it’s in Little Guyana or beyond.
In my daily life, I strive to honor our ancestors by preserving and promoting our traditions. From acknowledging the significance of the Carabbeans to recognizing the challenges we face, such as the impacts of oil exploration, I believe in fostering a sense of unity and pride within our community.
