Welcome! I'm Abdulla Ragubeer, a proud resident of La Belle Alliance in Lima, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant area, I've always been surrounded by the lush greenery and rich waterways that define our land. From the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, where community gatherings take place, to the mouthwatering dishes of pepperpot and cook-up rice shared at family celebrations, my roots run deep in the culture and traditions of Guyana.
Living in such a close-knit community, I cherish the connections with my neighbors and the stories that flow as freely as the rivers nearby. Whether it's a visit to the Upper Pom River Quarry Landing or a quiet afternoon along the Pomeroon Tapai Creek in St. Monica, each moment reminds me of the beauty and resilience of our people. I take pride in our heritage, where every meal and gathering reflects the warmth and spirit of our diverse cultures, from Amerindian influences to East Indian and African traditions.
Though I currently reside in Guyana, I hold a special place in my heart for the Guyanese diaspora around the world. Their memories and experiences resonate with me, as they share tales of our homeland, often reminiscing about the last time they savored a bowl of cassava pone or strolled through the streets of Georgetown. Together, we celebrate our identity and maintain a connection to the land that shapes us, no matter where we are.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
