Greetings! My name is Angela Parris, and I am a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Markenday Street, Essequibo. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been deeply connected to our rich cultural heritage, from the lush landscapes along the Pom River to the warmth of my neighbors in Lower Pom. My mission as an educator is to inspire my students to embrace our unique identity, especially as we navigate our place in the wider Caribbean context.
Guyana is not only part of the mainland Caribbean but also a melting pot of traditions, languages, and flavors. I cherish our local cuisine, particularly the mouthwatering fry fish and the famous dishes from White Castle Fish Shop and Hilton Chinese. It's these culinary delights that remind me of our shared experiences and the importance of community gatherings where stories and laughter flow as freely as our delicious pepperpot at family celebrations.
