Hello! I’m Vibert Parris, a proud Guyanese seaman hailing from the vibrant community of Markenday Street in Essequibo. Growing up alongside the Pom River, I carry the warmth of our shores and the spirit of our people wherever I go. Though my work takes me far from home, I find comfort in the rich flavors of our cuisine—nothing beats a bowl of pepper pot or a sweet taste of guinep, a cherished treat that connects me to my roots.
Having witnessed the beauty of our local markets and the resilience of our communities, I hold a deep appreciation for the cultural richness that defines us. From the lively sounds of the palm market to sharing stories of our history—especially the struggles and triumphs we’ve faced as a nation—I’m always eager to connect with fellow Guyanese, whether in the homeland or the diaspora.
