Hello! I’m Romona Parris, a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Anna Regina, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up near the serene Pomeroon River, I have always been captivated by the natural beauty that surrounds me, from the lush landscapes to the iconic Warakabra Hill. I enjoy sharing the wonders of our local cuisine with my students, whether it’s the delightful taste of pepperpot during the holidays or the freshness of fish curry typical of our coastal communities. These culinary traditions not only connect us to our past but also strengthen our bonds as a community.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the supportive ties we share with our diaspora, united by our love for this land and its culture.
