Hello! I’m Awad Becham, a proud Guyanese labourer hailing from the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from savoring rich pepperpot on special occasions to enjoying fresh fish and coconut at the local markets. The connection we have to our land, our rivers, and the bustling streets filled with the aroma of roti and curry is something I carry with me wherever I go.
Though some may joke about Guyana having its ups and downs, I firmly believe that our spirit is as strong as the mighty Essequibo River. Whether it’s the laughter shared over a game of cricket or the celebrations during Mashramani, the heart of our community beats with resilience and warmth. As I navigate life, I remain committed to sharing the beauty and uniqueness of our homeland, encouraging others to look beyond the surface and discover the incredible stories that make Guyana special.
