Greetings! My name is Jelina Baird, and I proudly call Baramita, nestled in the stunning Barima-Waini region, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I cherish every moment spent exploring the natural beauty, from the majestic rivers to the rich wildlife. As a resident of Baramita, I've witnessed the incredible growth of our communities, much like what you might find in Richmond Hill, also known as Little Guyana, where many of our diaspora families have settled. It warms my heart to know that my relatives have built beautiful homes abroad, but the connection to our roots remains strong. I often reflect on the magnificent structures back home, which stand as a testament to our resilience and creativity, even as we navigate challenges like infrastructure improvements.
