Hello! My name is Banie Kishun, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a security guard, I take my job seriously, ensuring the safety and peace of mind of those around me. Living in a region rich with natural beauty, from the lush greenery of the Pomeroon-Supenaam to the stunning sunsets over the Essequibo River, I cherish the vibrant culture that surrounds me.
Growing up in Guyana, I've been fortunate to enjoy our delicious local foods, like pepperpot, metemgee, and the ever-famous roti. I often reminisce about family gatherings filled with laughter and the aroma of homemade dishes wafting through the air. Whether it's a lively celebration or a simple get-together, the warmth and humor of my fellow Guyanese people always make me feel at home, even as many of my friends and family have settled abroad.
While I may not have the opportunity to travel often, I stay connected with the global Guyanese diaspora, sharing stories and experiences that resonate with our shared heritage. I love hearing the memories of others who have gone back to visit, and I look forward to the day I can do the same.
