Greetings! I'm Barry Fraser, a proud farmer hailing from the lush lands of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant flora and fauna of our beautiful country has instilled in me a deep love for agriculture. With every crop I plant, I try to capture the essence of Guyanese culture, from the rich spices that grace our traditional dishes to the sweet fruits that remind us of home. Nothing beats a plate of my favorite Guyanese Chinese food after a long day in the fields!
As a farmer, I believe in the strength of our community and the importance of staying connected with our roots. I often think of the stories shared around the dinner table, the laughter of friends enjoying a good meal, and the songs that echo in the evening breeze. It’s these memories that keep the spirit of Guyana alive, whether we’re at home or far away in the diaspora. I know that no matter where we are in the world, Guyanese people carry a piece of our homeland in our hearts.
Through my work, I aim to contribute to the prosperity of our region and support fellow farmers, just as we stand united against the challenges we face. I believe in a future where Guyana shines even brighter on the global stage, and together, we can achieve that dream. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
