Hello! My name is Bibi Khan, and I am a proud seamstress based in the vibrant community of Anna Regina, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Drawing inspiration from our rich cultural heritage, I specialize in creating traditional attire that reflects the diverse backgrounds of our people. Whether it's a colorful sari or a stylish Caribbean dress, my work embodies the spirit of my roots, enriched by the flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot to metemgee.
Growing up near the Pom River, I've always been surrounded by the beauty of our landscapes and the warmth of our tight-knit community. I often find myself reminiscing about evenings spent under the stars, sharing stories with friends about the best places to visit, like Myrie Island and Kartabo Point. I also cherish the connections I've made with the Guyanese diaspora, particularly with those who share stories of their experiences living abroad, whether it's in Broxton or beyond.
As a second-generation Guyanese-American once noted, it’s surprising how little some know about our beautiful country.
