Nestled on Bud Street in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my work is a reflection of our rich traditions. I take pride in creating garments that honor the colorful motifs seen in our local festivals, from Diwali to Mashramani, capturing the essence of our diverse heritage. Just like a plate of pepperpot shared with loved ones, I believe every stitch is infused with warmth and connection.
My passion for sewing began in the small community of River St. Chads Mission, where I learned the craft from my grandmother, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and the aroma of fresh cook-up rice wafting through the air. I find inspiration in my surroundings, whether it’s the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River or the lively spirit of our diaspora, who often remind us of who we are and where we come from. This connection to our roots fuels my creativity and dedication to my art.
