Growing up here, I have cherished the simple joys of life, from sharing a plate of pepperpot with family during Christmas to enjoying the warm embrace of the community during the annual Wake Up North festival. These experiences have shaped my identity and continue to inspire me every day.
As a Guyanese, I am keenly aware of the complexities that come with our diverse culture. We celebrate our Indian heritage through festivals like Diwali, while also embracing the rich traditions of our Afro-Guyanese neighbors.
