Hello! I’m Binawattie Dasrat, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful town of Regina Essequibo Coast. With roots deep in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve always been passionate about nurturing young minds and celebrating our rich Guyanese culture. From the vibrant colors of our local markets to the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice, I believe that every lesson can be enriched by the stories and traditions that define our community.
Growing up near the Pom River, the natural beauty of our environment has always inspired me. Whether it's a quiet afternoon spent by the Kairimap Creek or participating in community events, I cherish the connections we share as a community. I often encourage my students to explore their heritage, reminding them that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. The lively discussions about who has the best women—Trinidad or Guyana—often spark laughter and camaraderie in my classroom.
As a proud member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with living abroad. My experiences have shaped my perspective and reinforced my commitment to education, both locally and globally.
