Hello! My name is Chandawatti Mawaram, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, specifically the Golden Fleece Estate in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the aromatic spices of our beloved cook-up rice to the sweet melodies of tassa music that echo through our festivals. My roots are firmly planted in this beautiful land, where the Pomeroon River flows with stories and traditions that shape our identity.
As a resident of this region, I cherish the warmth of our community. Whether it's sharing a plate of pepperpot during holiday gatherings or gathering with neighbors by the riverbank watching the world go by, these moments resonate deeply with me.
