Greetings! I’m Charles Roberts, a proud Guyanese managing operations at Pom River Picker’s Gill in the scenic Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush green landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, from the rhythms of soca that fill the air during our lively weddings to the flavors of chole bhature that remind me of my childhood gatherings. It’s in these moments that I feel most connected to my roots, whether I'm enjoying a traditional meal with family or dancing with friends as the rum flows and laughter fills the room.
My passion for improving our community drives my work, particularly when it comes to advocating for better infrastructure, such as drainage and sewer systems. I believe we can enhance the quality of life for all Guyanese, ensuring our beautiful country remains a welcoming haven for both locals and the diaspora. The tales I hear from fellow expatriates only strengthen my resolve to share the beauty of Guyana with the world, as I strive to keep our culture alive, no matter where we are.
