Hello! I'm Chrishnanan Persaud, a proud Guyanese living on the beautiful Essequibo Coast. My roots are firmly planted in the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where the warmth of the people and the lush landscapes of the region, like the iconic Essequibo River, shape my daily life. As a laborer, I find joy in working alongside my neighbors, sharing the rich culture that makes our homeland unique.
Growing up here means indulging in the delightful flavors of our local cuisine—from the aroma of pepperpot on special occasions to the sweet taste of guava and cassava. I take immense pride in our heritage, whether it’s celebrating cultural festivals with family and friends or simply sharing stories about our beloved villages like Canal Lower Pom and River Grant. The sense of community here is strong, and I cherish the connections we maintain, even as many of us find ourselves across the sea.
Despite the distance, I hold the memories of my homeland close to my heart, whether it’s the annual festivities that light up our streets or the shared laughter that echoes through our neighborhoods. I believe in celebrating who we are, from our accents—yes, it's "Essequibo," not "Essyqwaybo"—to the joyful spirit of our people.
