Hello! I’m Christopher Henry, a logger from the serene Essequibo Mainstay Lake region in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich natural resources and the vibrant culture that defines our communities. Whether it’s spending evenings with my family savoring a hearty plate of pepperpot or indulging in freshly caught fish from the Pomeroon River, I cherish the simple yet profound joys of life in Guyana.
My work as a logger allows me to connect with the forests that have shaped our way of life for generations. I always strive to balance my profession with sustainable practices, advocating for the health of our environment. As we tackle issues like littering in our communities, I draw inspiration from initiatives across the region, such as community clean-up events that unite us in preserving the beauty of our land. Together, we can create awareness and foster a cleaner, greener Guyana for future generations.
What I love most about being Guyanese is our incredible resilience and sense of community. Whether through sharing a laugh over a video that never gets old or supporting one another during tough times, the spirit of togetherness runs deep.
